Special Education Program

Case Profile

A 12-year-old boy and his sister were placed with a legal guardian when their parents died. Despite the boy's struggles with emotional, physical and learning disabilities, his legal guardian couldn't get the school system to give him the support he needed. He was falling further and further behind and becoming more withdrawn. The Alliance's attorney was able to have the boy assessed and an appropriate educational plan was implemented. The boy now attends a school with a more level campus to accommodate his physical disabilities, and he is getting individual tutoring in academic and social skills and physical therapy. This young man is now thriving, making friends and, in his own words, "enjoying life."
